Decay by Ammonite-Amy Decay by Ammonite-Amy
I've been revisiting a lot of old characters lately. This is a redesign of a character I came up with when I was in about 3rd or 4th grade. I used to like to climb trees and pretend to be this bizarre skeletal creature. And if that's not weird enough, I also watched a lot of Disney movies back then so all my characters sang musical numbers, and this guy was no exception.

Feel free to comment about anatomical inaccuracies if you wish, but I was going for more creative than accurate in this case and didn't use a lot of references, so I know it's probably not strictly correct in a lot of places. Since this was a childhood character I was kind of trying to tap into that bygone place where I could be creative without worrying so much about that kind of thing. I love biology and anatomy but sometimes I fear that worrying about anatomical plausibility makes me too cautious as a designer. So I've been pushing myself to start off drawing from memory, and then break out references during the end stages of the rough and try to reign it in only where it's so off that it becomes distracting.

Drawn in Photoshop bit by bit over the course of the last week or so.

I would like to use this in a card game I am making for myself. I can't pay you as this card game is not for profit, however, I can identify you as the illustrator. I will show you a copy of the card upon request. With your permission, and if the production of these cards it cheap enough for me, I will give you a copy of the actual printed card. Message me when you get the chance.

You have an amazing memory, I have difficulty drawing from referances so to me, anatomicaly, this is accurate!

Thanks! I do normally keep references close at hand so I don't have to rely too much on memory... but sometimes it's more freeing to just say forget it and go with your gut. ;)
